Abstract
The U.S. has dominated world affairs since the end of the Second World War in 1945. This reality has allowed the U.S. to play critical roles in the establishment of important international organisations such as the United Nations and all its affiliate bodies, as well as multilateral groups such as the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD – World Bank), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Trade
Organisation (WTO) and several others. Thus the U.S. has determined the course of international relations and global socio-economic development and peace and security cooperation.
